Baby’s Basket is growing!
In 2016, our first full year, Baby’s Basket provided packages of support to 131 babies, last year this grew by nearly 50% to 189 babies. In 2018 we are anticipating even greater demand.
The role will be varied and offer a range of activities involving :
- Sorting donations
- Folding and packing away laundered clothes
- Assisting with looking after our stores, monitoring and tidying the different sizes, types of clothes and toiletries
- Making up pre-packed baby clothes for a variety of uses
- Selecting clothes for baskets
You should ideally live locally to our offices in Birchwood.
The role would suit someone who is able to offer flexible time able to respond to the varied needs of the charity. You will also be someone who: enjoys keeping things neat and tidy has an eye for detail; and is able and happy to act on your own initiative after training.
Physical and environmental information: The role does involve moving and lifting of boxes to and from shelving and the store can be cold but protective clothing is provided.
Social Media support
Like many charities we are concerned about the changes to Facebook and don’t know yet how these will impact the way Baby’s Basket interacts with our supporters. If you are an expert user or have experience of supporting or managing social media for a charity or small enterprise and would be interested in supporting Baby’s Basket social media presence, we would love to hear from you.
Do you regularly travel to and from a main population centre in Lincolnshire?
If so, we have opportunities for volunteer drivers to help with occasional local collections and deliveries of our baskets helping our health professionals in Children's Centres, health centres, or hospitals in Boston, Gainsborough, Grantham, Lincoln, Louth, Skegness and Sleaford?
In all cases out of pocket expenses are paid.
