Baby’s Basket is growing!
To help us to cope the our increasing demand for our services we need another volunteer or two, to help with the following:
- Sorting donations
- Folding and packing away laundered clothes
- Assisting with looking after our stores, monitoring and tidying the different sizes, types of clothes and toiletries
- Making up pre-packed baby clothes for a variety of uses
- Selecting clothes for baskets
- Helping to pack our baskets for babies in need
The roles would particularly suit you if you are able to offer flexible time and respond to the varied needs of the charity. You will be someone who: enjoys keeping things neat and tidy; has an eye for detail; understand the needs and preferences of modern parents; enjoys being creative; and is able and happy to act on your own initiative after training. Out of pocket expenses can be paid.
You should be able to easily access our base in Birchwood.
Physical and environmental information: The role does involve moving and lifting of boxes to and from shelving.
Do you regularly travel between Lincoln and another part of Lincolnshire?
If you regularly travel between Lincoln and the main population centres of Lincolnshire including Boston, Bourne, Gainsborough, Grantham, Louth, Scunthorpe, Skegness, Sleaford, or Spalding we would welcome volunteer drivers to help with occasional collections and deliveries of our baskets when the health professional can't get to Lincoln.
You would be delivering to a local health centre or similar, not directly to parents. You need to contact your insurance company to make sure you are covered by your car insurance to drive for occasional charitable work. This should not cost you extra. Fuel allowance can be claimed at the recognised HMRC rates.
